Microfibre comes in a lot of different qualities.
One big difference is the thickness of the fibre.
Bona uses very fine fibres for more effective cleaning.
Finer fibres are more difficult to manufacture and therefore more expensive.
Additionally, the quality of the chemicals used in the manufacturing process also differ meaning a low-cost pad may have been produced using cheaper chemicals.

Air or tumble dry pad on low.
DO NOT use bleach, fabric softener or dryer sheets.
DO NOT wash with other cleaning rags/pads that have other cleaners on them.
What does “rinse pad often to avoid streaking” mean?
If you are cleaning a larger area or several small rooms, you will want to take the cleaning pad off of the mop and rinse it out in your sink with warm water to release the captured dirt.
Wring it out so it is only slightly damp and attach it back on the mop and continue mopping.

Do Bona Microfibre Cleaning Pads shed microplastic particles during washing?
Bona cleaning pads are made using the highest quality microfibres which shed less particles than the industry standard.
Internal test results show lint loss of approximately 0.007% per wash in a lab condition, which is far below the industrial standard 0.4% per wash. To further reduce the level of shedding Bona recommend using a cool wash as hot water increases the risk and you may also wish to use a special wash bag.
Are Bona Microfibre Cleaning Pads bad for the environment?
Microfibre is not bad for the environment if you use a high-quality microfibre, like the ones used for Bona cleaning pads.
A good microfibre cleans very well mechanically and consequently reduces the amount of chemical needed.
